Introduction to the College of Humanities and Information

I.  the Organizational Structure

At the beginning of this century, our school was promoted to the University of Science and Technology and further facilitate the school development plan. In early 2003, we established and renamed University of Science and Technology Promotion Committee". In preparation for changing name to the University of Science and Technology, we revised the organization of each college in accordance with the provisions of the University Law. After the school was reorganized into the University of Science and Technology in 2005, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and the College of Information and Management were established. The college of Information Management was eventually renamed the College of Smart Living and Management. With the era changing, in accordance with the school development plan, the College of Humanities and the College of Smart Living and Management were combining into College of Humanities and Informatics on August 1, 2018.
The College of Humanities and Informatics currently consists of Graduate Institute of Cultural and Creative Industries, Department of Social Work (including Graduate Institute of Social Work), the Department of Applied Foreign Languages (Japanese), the Department of Early Childhood Care & Education, the Department of Digital Arts and Multimedia Design, the Department of Computer Science and Entertainment Technology, the department of Marketing and Distribution Management,  Bachelor Degree Program of Funeral Service, Bachelor Degree Program of Elderly Creative Industry Management. The college totally contains 2 graduate schools, 6 departments as well as 2 programs.

II. the Development goals and vision of the college

The core of the short-term education goal of the college is to meet the goal of school development.

(1) Cultivating professionals with humanistic care and respect for ethics, who belonging to cultural and creative industries, the department of Social Work , the department of Early Childhood Care, the department of Applied foreign language, and Life Care and Education programs.

(2) Cultivating professionals who will have the ability to develop intelligent robots with skill and technology, to use Internet of things , AR/VR, 3D printing skills with information and media technology, based on the Department of Information Engineering and Entertainment Technology and Digital Multimedia Design. It is necessary to complement each other to achieve the vision of the school and to become a standard college that promotes humanistic care and social well-being with wisdom, information and digital media.
In order to cope with the current social development trend, the college's long-term development of school goals aim to integrate academic units into three major development axes: the main axis of the Industry of Elder and Children based on the Child Care department and the Social Work Department. Graduate Institute of Cultural and Creative Industries is the mainstay of the industry of community empowerment, the third main axis of the industry of funeral is based on the life program. Other Japanese (renamed 2020), the Entertainment Department, and the digital media, professional background provides the knowledge and skills required for the three major spindle execution surfaces. Through the curriculum and related programs, students will be trained to become professionals in solving the problem of aging society, and the social responsibility of the university will be implemented.
